On October 25th, 2010 the Bahamas National Trust and Pew’s Global Shark Conservation campaign kicked off an effort to protect sharks in The Bahamas at a breakfast briefing co-hosted by the Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources The Honorable Larry Cartwright. The briefing summarized global shark declines as well as the resulting ecosystem and economic impacts, and discussed the science of sharks in The Bahamas. Additionally it served to open official dialogue with the Bahamian government to provide specific recommendations on measures that can be taken in the future.

New U.S. Passport Regulations
As of January 23, 2007 all U.S. citizens are required to carry valid U.S. passports when traveling to and from The Bahamas.
