Boating in The Abacos
Today I forgot to put on my watch for the first time in 27 years. I didn’t miss it.
Things are just different here. I’m not worried about being late, or being early. I’m not worried about …anything. I’m beginning to think that this is more than a vacation. This is an awakening. These unbelievable shades of blue and green and these hidden beaches are telling me something. They’re reminding me to appreciate the beauty, and the people, in my life.
I’ve been married to this amazing man for three decades. But I’ve never appreciated him as much as I do right now, here in this place where we’ve discovered one little island after another. For six more days, these sparkling bays will be our home. These shores will be our playground. Among the islands of the Bahamas we’re finding beauty and solitude. And each other.
